This is a recent custom snowboard helmet design that I just finished for a friend. I started out with a plain gloss white Giro snowboard helmet. She requested some hibiscus flowers and the color pink. I stated off by sanding off the gloss of the helmet and masking off the area that I wanted the paint to adhere to. Then using some masking tape I sectioned off the helmet as I only wanted to have the design on half of the helmet leaving the other half untouched. Then using an Exacto blade I began cutting out the shapes and placement of the flowers that I wanted. Once complete I rattle can sprayed the pink base color on the helmet. Prior to removing the tape I added a few swish lines and applied 6 generous layers of clear coat to the entire helmet leaving the swish details as a matte finish (image #3). From there I added the extra details for a little extra pop overall.... and DONE!! Now I'm just waiting for the helmet to be used to acquire an in use shot at the mountain which I'll post at a later date.

Rogue
Rogue in all of her hooded goodness, done on recycled chipboard using pen & ink, watercolor and white acrylics. This substrate is proving to be really fun to create study pieces on so I think that I'm going to stick with it for a bit.
